What's a zine, and what does it have to do with science?
Zines (small self-published print works) are a really fun medium for creativity of all kinds, and they can be great for science communication, too!
Come learn about what zines are, why they're good for sci-comm, and (most importantly) how to make them and share your work with the world. In this two hour workshop, I'll share some knowledge about zine making, and then we'll work together to make your first mini-zine about your research (or any other science topic you're interested in!). This workshop is intended for adult scientists and science communicators.
Workshop registration is $30 per person, with an optional add-on zine supply kit. There are currently two dates for this workshop: Thursday February 25th, 2021 at 7pm Pacific Time and Saturday February 20th, 2021 at 10am Pacific Time.
Supply kit includes essential zine making supplies: scissors, a sharpie, a felt tip pen, stickers (relevant to your subject, handmade by me!), collage cut-outs, a glue stick, zine-making pattern prints, and a physical copy of my "How to Make Zines...For Science!" zine.
